My intention is to utilize the movement rendered in calligraphic marks, in combination with various acrylic textural compositions.  Through the paintings, I attempt to define reality, solely, in terms of texture.

The imitations of calligraphic marks overlap, creating the illusion of landscape.  I am fascinated with the gesture and movement of Eastern calligraphic marks, and hope to visually express a landscape through the vehicle of texture and motion.  I hope to engage the viewer in a topographic experience through images that imitate an aerial view and cause the viewer’s eye to fly.
